2025 Giro d’Italia Full Analysis: Schedule, Key Stages, Star Riders and Road to the Championship

Event Overview
The 2025 Giro d’Italia will be the 108th edition of the event, opening in Albania for the first time and ending in Rome. It will last for 24 days, with a total of 21 stages and a mileage of approximately 3,413 kilometers. The three major rest days are reasonably set, and the schedule is compact and challenging.

Route Design Detailed Explanation

Starting point: It will start from Grande Partenza in Albania, and it will stay in the eastern neighbor for three days, interspersed with a 13.7-kilometer time trial and two hilly stages.
Midway: Race highlights include the ninth stage from Gubbio to Siena, which includes five gravel sections, three classified climbs, and the sprint finish at Santa Muro and Piazza del Campo. Riders will experience the Strade Bianche in the scenic Tuscany area.
The most intense competition was left to the last week, especially the peak showdown of the total results on stages 19 and 20. Both days provided riders with about 5,000 meters of climbing and ended at Champoluc and the iconic Sestriere Pass on the French border.

There are 6 sprint stages in this Giro d'Italia, three of which are concentrated in the first week: Return to Italy
It is worth noting that the remaining two rest days of this Giro d'Italia are on May 19 and 26. There will be no competition on May 12 because the transition from Albania to Italy takes too long.

Finish: Rome, Italy - where history and modernity meet, the season-ending sprint.
