2026 Giro d’Italia Stage 10–14 Recap

Giro d’Italia 2026 S10: Ganna Smashes Race Record in Dominant Time Trial Victory

On May 19, Stage 10 of the 2026 Giro d’Italia (Viareggio Individual Time Trial) came to an end. The 42km flat course was perfectly suited for the race’s top time trial specialists.

As the stage unfolded, several riders briefly took over the hot seat, but INEOS Grenadiers star Filippo Ganna quickly became the center of attention. Averaging an incredible 54.92 km/h, Ganna continuously caught riders who started ahead of him and comfortably held the fastest time until the end to secure victory.

In the general classification battle, Jonas Vingegaard and pink jersey holder Eulalio faced a crucial showdown. Thanks to his superior time-trial ability, Vingegaard gained 1 minute and 57 seconds on Eulalio, significantly reducing the GC gap, though Eulalio successfully retained the Maglia Rosa.

After the stage, Eulalio kept both the pink and white jerseys, Magnier retained the purple jersey, and Vingegaard continued wearing the blue jersey.

Giro d’Italia 2026 S11: Narváez Wins Third Stage After Two-Man Battle

On May 20, Stage 11 of the 2026 Giro d’Italia (Porcari–Chiavari) concluded after a 195km race featuring three categorized climbs and one intermediate sprint.

The peloton tightly controlled breakaway attempts during the first 100km, while several minor crashes occurred, forcing Astana rider Ballerini to abandon the race.

Once the race entered the hilly terrain, a 17-rider breakaway finally succeeded and gradually split apart on the climbs. Eventually, Enric Mas of Movistar Team and Jhonatan Narváez of UAE Team Emirates emerged as the leading duo and became the clear contenders for the stage win.

Mas launched several attacks in the finale but could not shake Narváez. Inside the final kilometer, the two riders went head-to-head, with Narváez using his stronger sprint to defeat Mas and claim his third stage victory of this Giro.

After the stage, Eulalio retained the pink and white jerseys, Magnier kept the purple jersey, and Vingegaard remained in the blue jersey.

Giro d’Italia 2026 S12: Bahrain Victorious as Segaert Attacks Late for Solo Win

On May 21, Stage 12 of the 2026 Giro d’Italia (Imperia–Novi Ligure) came to an end. The 175km stage included two climbs and one intermediate sprint.

A large breakaway group formed early in the race, but during the climbing section, Movistar Team pushed a brutal pace at the front of the peloton, dropping many major sprinters from teams such as Soudal Quick-Step, Lidl–Trek, and Decathlon AG2R.

After the peloton reeled in the breakaway, the race entered the urban finale. Team Visma | Lease a Bike closely monitored attacks. Still, Bahrain Victorious rider Segaert took advantage of the confusion caused by road construction barriers and launched a decisive solo move with 3km remaining.

Caught off guard, the peloton failed to organize an effective chase, allowing Segaert to take an impressive solo victory. Meanwhile, Bahrain leader Eulalio gained valuable bonus seconds to further extend his lead in the general classification.

After the stage, Eulalio continued to hold the pink and white jerseys, Magnier kept the purple jersey, and Vingegaard remained in the blue jersey.

Giro d’Italia 2026 S13: Bettiol Attacks Near the Summit for Astana’s Third Victory

On May 22, Stage 13 of the 2026 Giro d’Italia (Alessandria–Verbania) finished after a 189km race featuring two climbs and one sprint point.

With the peloton showing little interest in chasing, a 15-rider breakaway quickly built an advantage of more than 12 minutes and became the focus of the stage.

As the race entered the final 20km of climbing, the breakaway gradually split apart until only Astana rider Bettiol and Uno-X rider Leknessund remained in contention for the stage win.

Leknessund repeatedly attacked in an attempt to weaken his rival, but Bettiol proved stronger and launched a decisive acceleration 200 meters before the summit of the final climb. He quickly opened a gap and extended it further on the descent.

Bettiol eventually soloed to victory with a 30-second advantage, earning Astana its third stage win of the 2026 Giro d’Italia.

After the stage, Eulalio retained the pink and white jerseys, Magnier kept the purple jersey, and Vingegaard remained in the blue jersey.

Giro d’Italia 2026 S14: Visma Dominates as Vingegaard Takes Pink Jersey

On May 23, Stage 14 of the 2026 Giro d’Italia (Aosta–Pila) concluded after a demanding 133km mountain stage featuring five climbs and one intermediate sprint.

A massive breakaway of more than 30 riders formed early in the race, but repeated climbs gradually whittled the group down. Meanwhile, Team Visma | Lease a Bike controlled the peloton throughout the day, keeping the gap under three minutes.

At the intermediate sprint, Jhonatan Narváez collected enough points to overtake Magnier and claim the purple jersey. Visma then continued to raise the pace in the mountains,

causing several major riders — including Magnier, Eulalio, Bernal, and Pellizzari — to lose contact.

Inside the final 5km, Jonas Vingegaard attacked after his teammates completed their mountain train duties. He quickly dropped all rivals and soloed to victory with a 50-second advantage.

Former pink jersey holder Eulalio lost significant time, allowing Vingegaard to take over both the pink and blue jerseys.

After the stage, Narváez wore the purple jersey, while Eulalio retained the white jersey.
